This Friday, May 13, is World Cocktail Day and to celebrate Wisher Vodka Co-Founders Kimberly LaRose and Emily Gillis-Terry (aka Klow & Emtastic) are inviting Decentraland regulars, meta-curious consumers and fellow brand leaders to join them for a virtual cocktail as Wisher attempts to establish a world record for the largest happy hour in Decentraland.
“Since we broke ground on our meta-distillery last September in Decentraland and have been hosting weekly parties since, we wanted to throw a big happy hour to recognize World Cocktail Day,” Gillis-Terry explained. “And we thought why not make it the biggest happy hour yet in Decentraland.”
In March, Wisher became the first spirit launched completely in the Metaverse when the brand randomly released a collection of 1,056 cocktail-themed NFTs via a mystery mint process. “Before even a drop of vodka was sold at brick-and-mortar, we wanted to launch Wisher in the Metaverse to celebrate our earliest supporters and biggest fans,” LaRose said. “The Web 3.0 community has welcomed us with open arms, and we want to welcome everyone to our meta-distillery as we attempt to establish a world record for the biggest bash in Decentraland this Friday.”
On the 13th , the happy hour will begin at 5 p.m. EST with a DJ set from Kong. Guitarist John Marvin Scott will take Wisher’s Meta-Distillery stage at 6 p.m. and Toigo will play at 7 p.m. Festivities will keep rolling until the last virtual cocktail is enjoyed early Saturday morning. “A lot of brands are dipping their toes in the metaverse waters, and we wanted to throw a party to welcome them, our metaverse fans and anyone who might be curious to see what Decentraland is all about,” Gillis-Terry explained. “We’ve gone all in on the metaverse, specifically Decentraland, as the home of our meta-distillery and we can’t wait to show folks around our space this Friday.”
